The Lucy Fund
Averil Robinson founded Pet Friends Inc. 25 years ago and since then has provided a safe and secure place for families and their beloved, deceased pets in a warm, humane, and compassionate environment.
She had always been deeply saddened by the many costs pet owners had to pay when their loyal companions needed extensive surgeries, but when she met Lucy, a lovely Maltese-mix, and her loving family, she decided to do something. In fact, that ‘something’ would change her professional life.
The family faced an agonizing decision. It was to either let their beloved Lucy pass away or be euthanized. The greatest hardship for the family was knowing that if they had the money, they could save her life.
Averil’s reaction on hearing of this? Pet Friends will pay for it! The Lucy Fund became a reality.
